Recovery Planning Casework - Support long-term recovery of individuals, families, and communities affected by disasters by assisting with recovery planning problem-solving and advocacy.Staff Services – Ensure disaster operations are properly staffed by assigning volunteers to appropriate shifts and positions while providing excellent customer services to volunteers and staff on disaster operations.Disaster Workforce Engagement - Help ensure volunteers are engaged in the Red Cross mission and have access and opportunities for training in their positions, so they are ready to help when disasters strikes.Help Engage, Prepare and Organize the Volunteer Workforce Disaster Mental Health volunteers help provide mental health intervention where needed and help facilitate long term recovery. Disaster Mental Health – Coping with disaster can be difficult and many people impacted by disasters need help overcoming feelings of stress and anxiety.Registered Nurse (RN) | Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) | Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) | Paramedic | Medical Doctor (MD) | Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) | Physician Assistant (PA) | Nurse Practitioner (NP) | Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Healthcare professionals play a vital role in maintaining healthy disaster shelters. From replacing medications and durable medical equipment lost during disasters, to screening for COVID-19 symptoms, and assessing first-aid needs of people arriving at shelters. Health Services Staff – Licensed healthcare professionals are needed to help carry out a wide range of daily activities in disaster shelters.Leadership and supervisory opportunities are available for those interested. Assist with greeting those coming into the shelter, registration, feeding, and other daily activities. Shelter Staff – Help set up shelters for people displaced by disasters.
